Affinity Photo 1.5 is available now for both Mac and Windows users – with free trial available

Affinity Photo was awarded the best Mac App of 2015 as well as best Imaging Software 2016 by TIPA, yet Windows users were through this time time left wondering if the much loved and multiple-award-winning photo editing software was eventually going to become available for the Microsoft platform. This wait is now over, having become cross-platform with its major update to version 1.5, and with 100% file compatibility between the two major operating systems.

Affinity Photo for Mac and Windows can be downloaded as a free trial for users to decide if the modest ‘no subscription’ (once off) fee of US$49.99 is something they are willing to part with. This shouldn’t be too difficult a decision if, according to the maker, Affinity Photo is indeed “The Best Professional Image Editing Software You’ll Ever Own.” Regardless, it is good to know that discovering if it lives up to this self-proclaimed accolade doesn’t cost a penny (you get 14 days free).

If you are considering switching from Adobe Photoshop to Affinity Photo, the video below from Denny’s Tips shows if the latter is a worthy alternative. The tester explores the features of the software and reveals some of its pros and cons. This was the new beta version of Affinity Photo released in November 2017, about which you can also read a nice review at Fstoppers.
