Leica M à la carte – the made-to-measure rangefinder camera follows the company’s expansion of their Leica à la carte programme created for camera personalisation
Leica photographers can choose from a range of customisable options to create their own look. The camera has all the technical features of the Leica M (Typ 240) as well as a two gigabyte buffer memory compared to the previous one gigabyte. Some other specifications of the camera can also be personalised, comprising options for viewfinder frames, video recording (with or without) and the type of glass for the cover plate of the LCD monitor screen.
Various finishes for the camera body are available: black or silver chrome, black enamel, and an additional option to select a top plate featuring a Leica logo or a classic version without the famous ‘red dot’. There are eleven full-grain cowhide options for trimming the body in addition to the standard black covering. For that final individual touch, customers can avail of fine engraving on the top and back of the top plate, for example to create a signature or other unique text. Various carrying straps are also available to match the camera’s leather trim.
