The exhibit, which runs right through 2015, features 30 previously unseen photographs and much more, including contact sheets with Ritts’ red-pencil markings. The late photographer shot some of the biggest names in the music industry: images of Madonna, David Bowie and numerous others will be amongst those on show in this 2015 exhibit debuting iconic photographs in rock history. It is presented in collaboration with the Herb Ritts Foundation.
In addition to this event, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston will show a new exhibition of Herb Ritts’ fashion photography work at its Herb Ritts and Clementine Brown galleries, from March 14 to November 8, 2015. According to the museum, The Ritts Foundation has given them a print of every image in the “Herb Ritts: WORK” retrospective put on at the MFA in 1996, which proved one of its most popular in its history. If you like the idea of supermodels in bold, sensual black and white, this is the one for you.
